The Office of CEPD has a long-standing global reputation for innovation, leadership and excellence in continuing education and professional development. As a knowledge hub for the research, design and delivery of innovative, accredited continuous learning experiences for healthcare professionals we enable the delivery of Better Education for Better Outcomes™.
We recognize that outcome-based continuous learning experiences result from leveraging innovative education techniques and drawing upon research to accelerate knowledge transfer – turning knowledge effectively into action. We also understand the critical role this plays in enabling healthcare professionals to make better decisions around the care and treatment of their patients, resulting in improved health outcomes.
The Office’s goal is to support and enable Course Directors to better plan and implement continuing education activities by providing a better learning experience for the attendees, as well as measure the impact and long-term effectiveness of these activities, consistent with the focus on outcome-based continuous learning.
Learning as an Experience
The Office realizes that at the most basic level, continuous learning is an experience and a process, not an activity. We also understand that in the healthcare profession, life-long learning experiences are required to stay current and deliver the best possible patient care. Our commitment is to enable the delivery of outcome-based learning experiences.
Leading the Way in Information Services
As the largest provider of CEPD in Canada, the Office also believes it is our responsibility to develop and deliver services to support our faculty and continuing education registrants in a changing environment. We have therefore invested heavily in evolving our information services for our online registration management services in order to support the efficient and timely management of continuing education records for healthcare professionals.
We also offer an events management and online registration system with industry-standard PCI-compliant credit card processing for easy registrant payment, a system that is being marketed to and used by several other Divisions of Continuing Education in Faculties of Medicine across Canada.
